Terracotta earrings you’ll want in every colour!

Over the last couple of weeks, I worked on four unique designs of terracotta earrings. These beautiful, lightweight, colourful pieces are perfect for those long summer days, whether to work, lunch with friends, or just a casual day out. Gudiya, Sharika, Samya, and Sahasra have been made to celebrate the fun, colour, and quirk of everyday dressing.

Hindi word ‘Gudiya’ translates to ‘doll’ in English. The doll-like design with a spherical segment connected to two conical jhumkas with ghungroo beads. When I make these multi-layered, I make them in parts so that the shapes don’t distort. ‘Sharika’, meaning bird, fits so aptly for this beautiful jhumka design, which features a handcrafted terracotta bird-shaped bead and conical jhumka below. The bird bead is entirely handcrafted without a mould (as many of you know my dislike towards using a silicon mould), with simple designs made using parts of a pen.
