'Creativity is just having enough dots to connect' - Steve Jobs
This post is all about the dots; My attempt with the basics of a technique called pointillism.
This is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism. (Source - Wikipedia)

I started using this method a few years ago when I wasn't even aware that this is a defined technique. Monochrome colors and flowy freestyle patterns are what I usually experiment with. Its amazing to see how a collection of simple dots when put together achieve something absolutely stunning. All it requires is a pen/pencil or paintbrush with an image, idea or story that you want to share in the most unique way. This particular black and white piece shown in the image above is my version of a simple dot-art that depicts the dainty shape of leaf with detailing done with white dots. There is a lot more to explore with this particular form being so widely used by canvas artists, graphic designers and tattoo artists.

This like any other art form has no limitations. It is a form of expression of skill and imagination, may it be on paper, clay, stone, canvas, bottle and other mediums including skin that can be seen and touched. One always starts with a dot but continues with endless possibilities. This collection along with a few others are updated on my store on: worldartcommunity.com/shops/paintedearthbyneha Please do take a look and as always suggestions and feedback are welcome.
